We’ve come to bury IE, not to praise it

Internet Explorer 5 for MacThis is an example of how a piece of software, long dead, continues its death rattle until someone finally puts it out of its misery. Microsoft stopped development (including security updates) on IE for Mac in 2003. In Internet time, that’s like sticking with a 50’s T-Bird for your daily-driver: It was a great car at the time, but there are much more fuel-efficient, comfortable, and reliable options today. My go-to browsers these days are Safari and Firefox. Safari is my daily driver - I just like the interface and ease-of-use. However, if I’m doing web development, or I’m having trouble with a site’s broken Javascript or CSS, I’ll hit Firefox - it really is a more powerful browser, and more standards-compliant. Plus, I can recommend Firefox to my Windows-handicapped friends!
