Security for Mozilla Firefox

Here is another tid bit to add a bit to Samuel’s post about security and Macs, however this applies to PC users as well. If you are using Mozilla Firefox and you allow it to “remember” your passwords, you could be at risk of someone snagging them on your machine, or accessing sensitive information. I know I personally use my machine to remember bank passwords and other sensitive account information. It’s not unsafe if you follow the following steps. On a Mac you need to click “Firefox” and then “preferences” in the top toolbar. Click on the tab for “security” and look on the right for a button that says “Set Master Password.” If you set that password when you open Firefox it will prompt you for that password, if you have it you’ll be allowed to use the saved password information, if you don’t have it, you can still use the browser, but the saved password information won’t be “remembered” or accessible.Hope this helps protect some of you guys, it’s always good to make sure you are safe from unwanted users poking around you private information. Good luck, and let us know if you have any questions…Ad
